I’m not going to lie.. We’ve had a tough summer with a 4 year old and her badly broken leg.. it’s only now Autumn is kicking in that I’m truly beginning to feel a little more focused and calm and a sense of normality is returning .
As a mummy you just have to keep plodding on though don’t you? When your children need you, you put your own needs/feelings to the side and you focus on them.. But it’s so easy for it all to get too much.. The tiredness, the mummy guilt, the housework, the days when the house is a shit hole and you’ve got nothing done and you barely have any food in and you feel like you’re failing.
But I guarantee you’re not.
The fact that you care you might be failing means you’re not.
When it all gets a bit much I’ve found taking just a few mins a day on your own to gather your thoughts and breeeeathe can really help. (even if you’ve had to lock yourself in the bathroom to get that peace ) .
My next ‘go to’ is my box of essential oils to support my emotions…
Whenever I’ve been feeling a little overwhelmed (often) and need to take a step back to gain some perspective, this has been my favourite blend to go in the diffuser.
3 drops Wild Orange
6 drops Balance
Balance is a beautiful doTERRA blend including blue tansy, frankincense, ho wood, blue chamomile and spruce and I find it really calms my mind and settles my emotions.
With the addition of wild orange for a little bit of energizing citrus, it’s the perfect mix to relax and recharge me ready to face the next (inevitable) challenge 🤓
